Graduating to Hunter College for a master’s in Music Education, Albert’s passion for jazz only deepened. He frequented late-night jam sessions in the village, earning praise from luminaries like Brad Meldau and Dave Budway. Beyond his academic pursuits, Albert’s performances range from intimate settings to grand stages, including notable appearances at Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola and The Blue Note Jazz clubs. His solo piano rendition of Duke Ellington’s “Black, Brown and Beige” earned critical acclaim, showcasing his mastery and innovation. In the vibrant Nyack music scene, Albert’s influence is palpable, from co-hosting open mics to leading his swing jazz trio and later forming the Ahlfabet Swing Group, enchanting audiences with their timeless melodies. Today, Albert’s musical journey continues unabated. As a performer, educator, arranger, and historian, he remains committed to preserving and innovating within the realms of Swing, Jazz, Blues, Gospel, and occasionally Classical music.
