We present the guitarist Andrés Madariaga and his album Sonata Romántica, a 2020 publication that counted on the financing and production of the Guitarra Viva Foundation.
This is the first recording that Andrés made and we started reviewing it with an emblematic work by the Mexican Manuel María Ponce. This is his Romantic Sonata written in memory of Franz Schubert in 1929 and that, like so many other scores of the author, was born from the work started with Andrés Segovia a few years before and would result in prolific fruits for the repertoire of the instrument.
Andrés Madariaga Corvalán was born in Santiago, studied at the Austral University and completed a postgraduate degree at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. She has won first prizes in the competitions Liliana Pérez Corey, Vital-Medeiros, María Luisa Anido, Amarante and Southern, among others. He is currently a classical guitar teacher at the “Musikschule Kreis Kleve” and has recorded three albums. In addition, he forms the Multi-Chord Duo with the harpist Maria-Theresa Freibott.
