Estonian guitarist and composer Anna Regina Kalk is releasing her new album “Different Times”, an impressive reflection on change, loss, new beginnings and the unexpected beauty of transformation. In 2022 she released her debut album “Practical Matters” with the chamber jazz trio Assonance and presented her own compositions that emphasized the beautiful in everyday life. The new album deals with the turmoil of recent years and the cyclical changes of life. In her introspective compositions, Anna Kalk deals with the darker and more intense moments of existence: loss, transitions and new beginnings. At the same time, her music radiates a comforting warmth that arises from the acceptance of change. With a combination of edgy rhythms, driving bass lines and expansive, melodious soundscapes, Anna Kalk creates a haunting atmosphere that captures the emotionality of life. Her music thrives on contrasts and interweaves tension with serenity, chaos with harmony, and reveals the beauty in changes.
