For the recording of this Christmas album on DG, top-class classical artists as well as the Augsburger Domsingknaben and the Deutsche Kammerorchester Berlin have now come together, young classical stars are taking up an old tradition and interpreting beautiful well-known Christmas songs such as “Oh You Cheerful”, “Silent Night” and others.. Anna Prohaska and the vocal ensemble Adoro sing. Daniel Hope and Albrecht Mayer can be heard together in a transcription of the famous “Largo ma non tanto” from Bach’s Concerto for two violins, and the clear voices of the boys’ choir sound heavenly.
