An album of arrangements for harp made by the artist herself of some dearly loved and familiar works.
Richard Strauss: Morgen
“Richard Strauss is one of my absolute favorite composers. Whether it is his opera Rosenkavalier or his Vier Letzte Lieder, they are all masterpieces that move. So is the song “Morgen”, which in all its simplicity immediately finds a straight line to everyone’s heart. I hope that even without the sung words, the essence and beauty of this work are conveyed in this version for harp solo.”
Erich Korngold: Tanzlied des Pierrot
“Through my work at the Wiener Staatsoper, I played many wonderful operas. One of the most beautiful ones is “Tote Stadt” in which Korngold makes eager use of the harp. Tanzlied des Pierrot is an enchanting intimate excerpt of this opera.”
Franz Schubert: Ständchen
“When it comes to Schubert’s famous Ständchen, Vienna is not far away and may not need much further explanation. This is one of the last songs the Austrian composer composed, and it remains beautiful, with or without words.”
W.A. Mozart: Fantasia
“Mozart only did find his way to the harp via the double concerto for flute and harp. At that time, the chromatic possibilities of the harp were not as developed and therefore less interesting. Thanks to the modern double pedal system, it is a wonderful challenge to transpose this Fantasy for piano on harp, among others, and to place it in a new light.”
