1987 symbolizes and reflects the impulsiveness and playfulness of the subconscious and dreams and is strongly influenced by David Lynch. The concept album is a melting pot of various genres, e.g. jazz, rock, indie, free improvisation, metal, punk and ambient. It is strongly inspired by some of my musical influences like Miles Davis, Frank Zappa, Ornette Coleman, John Hassell and Matiss Cudars. In addition to some of the most promising European jazz musicians such as e.g. Teis Semey, Augustas Baronas, Matthias van den Brande, Ashton Sellars, Grammy-winning trumpeter Ashlin Parker and Larry Sieberth from New Orleans are also represented on the album. The only non-original song is from the audiobook “Sleep Tapes” with Jeff Bridges.
