Sebastian Krol and Rüdiger Ruppert, the two organizers of the Bigband of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, do not have to shy away from the comparison with these visionary kitchen artists. Gospel and blues, soul, jazz and funk, disco and hip-hop are – to stay in the picture – the aromas of a music that are very closely interwoven with each other. The musical styles, which are primarily located in the most diverse environments and epochs, are characterized by similarities of groove, wind movements, a lot of concise voices and connections in their harmonies.
