This album is inspired by the vibrant theatre scene in Dublin in the 18th century and explores connections between Italian and Irish musicians in Smock Alley.

The focus is on a series of cello duos by the Italian composer Tommaso Giordani (1730-1806). This was a starting point for the bass-heavy sound world we explored; expanding the rich sound of two cellos by adding the gritty warmth of double bass, percussion and earthy Irish flute.
