The French harpsichordists of the Century of Louis XV advocate the intoxication and the assumed casualness of their harpsichord which crackles and rumbles, but also sings the feelings like an opera orchestra. They free themselves from the suite of dances by the character piece, a French specificity that is enriched by salon portraits. Sentimens and tender complaints respond with an ornamental talent to the martial developments of the Cyclops and the March of the Scythians! Clément Geoffroy interprets an anthology of this French harpsichord that has reached an exceptional level of subtlety and impetuosity, a true rocaille style that is already his swan song.
