Acoustic Disc has announced the release of Doc Watson & David Grisman, Doc & Dawg Live at Town Hall in download format only. On October 22, 1998, Arthel “Doc” Watson and David “Dawg” Grisman played two sets to a sold-out house at New York’s legendary Town Hall. Fortunately, the music was well recorded by Dawg sound engineer Larry Cumings and released here for the first time. As guitarist Jack Lawrence, who also played in the concert, put it, “This recording from Town Hall is a prime example of the Doc & Dawg experience. In a setting as comfortable as our own homes we delivered two sets of honest, organic music. Here we have three friends enjoying each other’s company and playing music for the sheer joy of it. We never thought to approach it any other way.”
