Erma Franklin (eng. Erma Franklin; b. March 13, 1938, Shelby, Mississippi USA — September 7, 2002, Detroit, Michigan, USA) was an American soul and gospel singer. Is the older sister of Aretha Franklin. She is best known for her hit “Piece of My Heart”, recorded in 1967, which received a Grammy Award nomination. This song was subsequently performed by the American rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company.
