This year “Waka/Jawaka” & “The Grand Wazoo” celebrate their 50th anniversary. To celebrate half a century of this groundbreaking phase of Zappa’s career, both albums will be re-released as a box set and single LPs on December 16th. Under the title “Waka/Wazoo” a 4CD + Blu-Ray audio set will be released in a new stereo mix, which offers a complete historical overview of “Waka/Jawaka” and “The Grand Wazoo”. Included are alternative takes of almost every composition recorded during the album sessions, as well as outtakes and curiosities from the archive. The last show of the tour, which was recorded on December 15, 1972 at the famous Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, is also part of the box set. In addition, “Waka/Jawaka” and “The Grand Wazoo” will each be released as 1LP, pressed on 180g.
