The Syd Barrett of British blues isn’t done electrifying the venues! For more than twenty years, the French guitarist Fred Chapellier has had American blood running through his veins. Semi-finalist of the international blues challenge in Memphis, this here is an eruptive artist, respected internationally for having accompanied big names on the French scene such as Dutronc, Johnny and Eddy Mitchell. After producing eight solo albums and participating in many collaborations, he demonstrates his talent here with a tribute to Fleetwood Mac’s legendary guitarist. Plays Peter Green revisits fourteen of the artist’s songs stretching from 1967, when Green founded the group, until 1970 when his mental health unfortunately forced him to withdraw. This tortured and mysterious character has long fascinated the Frenchman. Taking a more electric approach, the track If You Be My Baby sets the tone. Acclaimed by the audience, Chapellier turns Fleetwood Mac’s relatively clean and intelligent version into a raw and untamed blues rock. Not holding back, he launches himself into the classics Black Magic Woman and Fleetwood Mac Theme with such ease and gives us an hour of wonderful rock’n’roll blues.  – Anna Coluthe
