What makes Göteborg Baroque’s sound unique is the intimate interaction between the ensemble’s instrumentalists and singers and their shared passion for early music.

Göteborg Baroque was founded in 2003 by its artistic director Magnus Kjellson, who traditionally leads the ensemble as playing conductor at the ensemble’s world-unique claviorganum.

The ensemble has its home stage and general program series in the German Christinae church. Göteborg Baroque regularly performs the great well-known Baroque works but also presents lesser-known musical gems, often forgotten since hundreds of years.
