For 25 years, GREGORIAN have thrilled millions of people worldwide with their ability to seamlessly switch from classical chorales to pop and rock songs. They have also set new standards with their choreographed shows. The idea for GREGORIAN was born when Hamburg hit producer Frank Peterson (Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, José Carreras, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys and many more) visited the royal monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Spain in 1989. It was there that he found the inspiration to mix ancient Gregorian music with modern songs – a unique sound experiment. Peterson first realized the idea with Michael Cretu and the worldwide sound phenomenon “Enigma”. The first album “MCMXC a.D.” was released in 1990 and quickly became a worldwide success.This sensational triumph paved the way for GREGORIAN to take the musical idea one step further and establish it as an independent music act. Millions of albums sold, over 1,400 shows in front of more than 3.2 million concertgoers and numerous gold and platinum awards later, GREGORIAN will be celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2025. The celebrations will kick off in November 2024 with the release of their new album “25/2025”, followed by a major world tour from 18.01.2025. “25/2025” – the big anniversary album – contains 30 songs; 15 well-known and popular GREGORIAN hits in new versions as well as 15 brand new productions. The new songs include great interpretations of well-known global hits by The Weeknd, Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, Ozzy Osbourne, Bruce Springsteen and other world stars. “25/2025” is a tribute to the successful past and a look into the future of the world’s most successful choir of all time.
