On the occasion of the 30th Herbert von Karajans presents Deutsche Grammophon the legendary cycle of the Bruckner symphonies with the Berlin Philharmonic on 9 CDs, complemented by audiophile remasterings on a Blu-ray audio disc. While the Bruckner Symphonies 1-3 are digitally produced recordings that were specially sampled from the original 16 bit/44.1 kHz to 24 bit/192 kHz for the Blu-ray audio disc, this edition offers a new 24 bit/96 kHz remastering of the Bruckner symphonies 4-9 from the original bands. Karajan’s Bruckner cycle with the Berlin Philharmonic, recorded between January 1975 and January 1981, is a milestone in the history of Bruckner recordings. These recordings testify to the extremely fine feel of this unique maestro and are undoubtedly one of Karajan’s most important recordings – certainly it is also one of the most profound Bruckner interpretations ever. The high-quality edition is rounded off by a 14-page booklet with an essay by Reinhard Beuth in the languages English and German.
