Here is the second volume of Jazz Impressions by pianist Hervé Sellin, who, following his exploration of Claude Debussy’s oeuvre, pays tribute to Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Ravel, pioneers and inspired craftsmen of French music in the 20th century, as well as intellectual and artistic beacons in realms of thought, dance, vocal art, and reverie…

Through twelve reimagined pieces, akin to twelve exalted romances serving as conduits for improvisation, reharmonisation, rhythmic innovation, and unpredictable narratives, Hervé Sellin once again invites us on an unexpected and emotionally resonant journey.

Between classical and jazz, Hervé Sellin (double piano prize at the CNSM) has played with Slide Hampton, Chet Baker, Dizzy Gillespie…
