Decca’s “dashing tenor, the king of the bel canto repertory” (New York Times) Juan Diego Flórez has over 15 years become the lyric tenor of choice among cognoscenti, colouring his notes like an artist does a canvas.
On this affordable, handsomely-packaged album, Florez celebrates 15 years with a collection of his finest arias, featuring some of the music to be heard on 2016’s ‘Last Night of the Proms’. Moreover, three tracks appear on CD for the first time: ‘Puisqu’on ne peut flêchir’, ‘Ave Maria’ and ‘Amapola’.
“…when Flórez performs, audiences know they are in the presence of a true virtuoso.”
Awarded Peru’s highest honour, the Gran Cruz de la Orden del Sol del Perú, Flórez’s philanthropic projects now include a Foundation in Peru encouraging the development of national youth and children’s choirs and orchestras.
