The Kaiser Chiefs will release their eighth studio album “The Easy Eighth” via V2 Records / Bertus. The single “Feeling Alright”, on which the Brits collaborated with chic disco legend Nile Rodgers, is being released today. Since their formation more than 20 years ago, the band has reinvented itself time and again, filling halls and stadiums with songs such as “Ruby”, “I Predict A Riot” and “Everyday I Love You Less And Less”.Founded in Leeds in 2000, the Kaiser Chiefs are one of the defining bands of their generation. Fronted by the charismatic Ricky Wilson, Simon Rix on bass, Andrew “Whitey” White on guitar, Nick “Peanut” Baines on keyboards and drummer Vijay Mistry, the band can boast a string of hits such as “Oh My God”, “I Predict A Riot”, “Everyday I Love You Less and Less”, “Never Miss A Beat” and “Hole In My Soul”.

Produced by Amir Amor (Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX), the Kaiser Chiefs present a fresh and bold new sound on “The Easy Eighth”. In addition to “Feeling Alright”, the Brits impress across the board with the wild “Beautiful Girl”, the brass-heavy “Job Center Shuffle”, the cheerful “Jealousy” and “The Lads”, which is reminiscent of their old Brit-pop roots.

The album announcement follows the success of the Beautiful South-inspired single “Jealousy” and the euphoric “How 2 Dance”. The new single “Feeling Alright” was written when Nile Rodgers visited the band in the studio. The band rummaged through some jams and “Feeling Alright” was the song that Rodgers particularly liked. The band had always liked playing it, but didn’t quite know where it belonged. Nile turned out to be the best man for the song and found a home for it almost immediately. He also brought in Amir Amor, who would go on to work on the entire album.
