Starting his music with classical guitar, Kamil Erdem turned to bass guitar and double bass with the influence of his interest in jazz and basic sounds over time. Erdem, who gave concerts in more than twenty countries during his professional career, which started in the eighties, his interest in Anatolian, Balkan and Middle Eastern music has been very influential in his musical identity and has been reflected in both his playing style and his compositions. The mainstream of jazz (mainstream jazz) has also formed an important place in Erdem’s life both as a musician and as an instructor.Erdem founded the Asiaminor community in 1990. Asiaminor has gained a permanent place both in Turkey and abroad for more than 10 years with its concerts and albums. The band has released the albums “Along the Street” (1991), “Longa Nova” (1996) and “Cat’s Dream” (1997) with pieces composed by Erdem for Asiaminor, in which improvisations in jazz and traditional music understanding are intertwined, and the ensemble has toured the USA three times in addition to European concerts.

reflecting the impressions he got from the music of different regions of the world in his solo bass guitar album “Bir Bas Masalı”, published in 2001, Erdem composed compositions for solo bass guitar in Poland, Germany, G.He has given solo bass guitar concerts in Africa, USA and Turkey and has organized master class studies.
