This is the latest album by Keisuke Yasujima, a pianist who has been attracting attention from many music fans for his unique musical activities while practicing as a lawyer. This is the world premiere recording of a piano arrangement of Ysaye’s masterpiece “Sonata for Solo Violin,” one of the pinnacle of violin art. Pianist Keisuke Nijima and arranger Kohei Owaki spent a long time to unravel the work, and they are convinced that “if Ysaye could have played the piano, he would certainly have written this way. The result is an unmistakable piano work that is newly constructed while respecting the original to the maximum extent possible. The richness of Ysaye’s sense of harmony, color, and compositional beauty can be felt even more strongly through the piano. Keisuke Hayshima’s firm technique and fluidity of musicality with detailed control. This is an ambitious work that sheds new light on Ysaye’s music. <Keisuke Hayshima was born in Saitama Prefecture in 1981 and began playing the piano at the age of six, studying with Haruko Uehara, Makoto Takagi, Tetsuya Kiriei, Toshihiro Kaneshige, and others. Currently, while practicing as a lawyer, he performs solo, duo, chamber music, and accompaniment to songs, with Baroque and modern music as his main repertoire. He has premiered many new works and arrangements by contemporary composers such as Takuya Nemoto and Kohei Owaki. He has released two CDs so far: his first CD “Schumann & Liszt,” which includes Schumann’s David Allied Dances and Liszt’s Piano Sonatas, and his second CD “Transcribed Bach,” a collection of arranged works by Bach. He is in charge of fingering for both “Bach: Piano Arrangements – Fugal Works for Three Different Instrumentations” and “Ysaÿe: Complete Sonatas for Piano Sonata for Solo Violin” (Muse Press, Inc.), both of which were edited by Kohei Owaki. <Kohei Owaki was born in Fukui Prefecture in 1996.
