After working on numerous projects for other artists, Pomanti has used some of the time over the pandemic to work on a project that finds him hosting a musical party featuring some of his best mates on a record appropriately titled “Lou Pomanti and Friends”.”Pomanti’s “ten piece touring funk juggernaut, Oakland Stroke” is represented here with a bluesy and thrilling version of Me and Mrs. Jones, graced by the incredible pipes of George St. Kitts. Of special, luminous beauty is the haunting Windmills of Your Mind perfectly rendered by the incomparable Garber – who doesn’t just sing the lyrics, but imbues them with deep emotional content and flawless interpretation. Composer, producer, musician, Gemini Award winner and 5-time nominee, Lou Pomanti is highly respected nationwide as one of the country’s finest musical talents. With over 25 years of credits in scoring, songwriting and performing his expertise has awarded him hundreds of musical projects for film, television, and album work. In 1980, Lou received a call from David Clayton-Thomas asking him to join Blood, Sweat and Tears on their world tour. This kickstarted him into a whirlwind period over the next 2 decades of playing with a who’s who of the North American music scene, from Anne Murray to Kim Mitchell, from Gordon Lightfoot to Platinum Blonde, from Triumph to Leonard Cohen, from Jeff Healey to Michael Bublé. Lou has just finished producing and arranging Clayton-Thomas’ new CD for Universal Records, “Soul Ballads”.
