In the last years of his life, Johann Sebastian Bach brought together some of his most profound musical reflections in the collection known as the Leipzig Chorales – a series of 18 organ works that combine spiritual depth, contrapuntal mastery and expressive richness. By revisiting earlier compositions and refining them to the highest degree, Bach achieves a synthesis of emotional sensitivity and intellectual rigor. Martin Gester, returning to his first love – the organ – presents a lively reading of this monumental cycle on the colorful Thomas organ of the Saint-Loup church in Namur.
