This very interesting discographic monograph is dedicated to the figure of Federico Bufaletti, a forgotten artist and the main exponent of the Neapolitan piano school that took root in Turin at the end of the nineteenth century. The production in question lays the foundation for an in-depth investigation into the dual role of Bufaletti as a composer and pianist, since in addition to presenting his complete piano work, it makes use of the recovery of recordings from the early twentieth century that see the artist perform pieces by Scarlatti, Debussy, Mozart, Liszt, and others on the piano. The work also includes works dedicated to Bufaletti by exponents of the Italian piano school such as Alessandro Longo, Costantino Palumbo, Gaetano Foschini, and Pietro Floridia. The interpreter of Bufaletti’s music is the pianist Massimiliano Génot, already appreciated for having brought to light the piano works of Giuseppe Unia (tc 812101).
