When baritone Milan Siljanov decided to record his first song album, he immediately knew which composers he wanted to immortalize. He had the desire to become a pianist from an early age, even though he realized that his talents lay in other musical areas. It was during this time that he learned to appreciate Schubert’s melancholy and pathos, which he also found in many of the composer’s songs. So it was clear that Schubert would be a focus on the album, complemented by two weighty cycles by Johannes Brahms and Frank Martin.
