In the album “Estrella del Sur” all the compositions, created by Mirta Álvarez, are deeply rooted in Argentine folklore, reflecting the Pampas landscape where she was born. The guitar expressions in these works capture the nuances and rhythms of Argentine music, such as milonga, huella, and zamba. This testimonial album invites listeners on a journey through the rich cadences of the Pampas, offering a musical homage to the traditions and landscapes of Argentina.

All the compositions that make up this album are my own. They deal with Argentine folklore, with strong roots in the Pampas landscape where I was born. The guitar expression of the works leads us to registers, cadences, and nuances of Argentine music, rhythms such as milonga, huella, zamba are some of the rhythmic expressions for solo guitar, which are presented in this testimonial album. — Mirta Alvarez.
