Pianist Olga Scheps and cellist Raphaela Gromes present fresh and unique arrangements of six of Frédéric Chopin’s legendary Nocturnes on their new EP, which will be released by Sony Classical on May 10th.Originally composed for solo piano, the new arrangements of the two female classical stars bring fresh colors to these famous compositions. The Nocturnes by Frédéric Chopin – composed between 1827 and 1846 – are characterized by their dreamy melodies and rich harmonic structures. They have become permanent favorites in the classical piano repertoire, demonstrating Chopin’s incomparable ability to evoke emotions through music. Olga Scheps and Raphaela Gromes created their arrangements together with Julian Riem to highlight new colors in the original compositions and emphasize the melodic qualities of the music.

The pianist Olga Scheps has established herself as a permanent fixture on the major classical concert stages in recent years. As a recording artist, she is known for her unique repertoire concepts that cross the boundaries between classical music, film music and pop. Her albums “Family”, “Melody” and “Satie” exemplify this quality and have been streamed millions of times worldwide. With her distinctive interpretations and outstanding versatility, Olga Scheps is one of the most sought-after pianists of her generation.

The playing of cellist Raphaela Gromes is characterized by virtuosity, passion and joy of playing. Her album “Femmes”, released in 2023, allows remarkable female composers from nine centuries of music history to have their say and achieved considerable chart success. Her most recent project with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, a matter of the heart for the cellist, culminates in an upcoming Dvořák album and an extended concert tour in autumn 2024.
