The Tango Argentino becomes a synonym for the melancholy of the European emigrant in Buenos Aires – expressing the feelings of those uprooted from the old world who had not yet found a place in the new. The musicians of the Piazzolla Klassik Ensemble, being of Russian origin while playing as soloists and members of international orchestras, find themselves in a similar emotional situation. The performers’ empathy with the melancholy, dolor and ardor is evident – allowing us to visualize how much Piazzolla’s compositions reflect the feelings and the passions of the Russian soul. Impressive, also, is the emotional catharsis of the tango’s pain and sadness in the successful bridge formed to the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, his sublime harmonies allowing a ray of sunshine to appear on the overcast horizon of expatriation.

So ist beispielsweise der Tango Argentino, ein Synonym für die Melancholie der europäischen Auswanderer in Buenos Aires – Ausdruck der Entwurzelung jener, die die alte Welt verlassen – und in der Neuen noch keine Heimat gefunden haben.
Die aus Russland stammenden Künstler des Piazzolla-Klassik-Ensembles sind als Solisten und Mitglieder internationaler Orchester wohl in einer vergleichbaren emotionalen Situation. Die Identifikation der Künstler, mit der Melancholie, der Schwermut und Expressivität ist spürbar – führt überraschend vor Augen wie sehr die Kompositionen Piazzollas die Gefühle, die Sehnsucht der russischen Seele spiegeln. Beeindruckend ist jedoch die emotionale Auflösung des Schmerzes und der Tristesse des Tangos in einem gelungenen Crossover zu den Werken Johann Sebastian Bachs. Denn dessen hehre Harmonien brechen gleich einem Sonnenstrahl den trüben Horizont der Entwurzelung auf. -Josef-Stefan Kindler
