Canciones del Solar de los Borridos is the third album made jointly by Willie Colón and Rubén Blades that was published by Fania Records in late August and early September 1981.

The production contains the controversial song “Tiburón”, which alludes to the expansionist policy of the United States on Latin America, with its intervention in Central America1, which is why Blades was banned in Miami until 1996.

The cha-cha-cha “Ligia Elena”, “From what?”, “Madame Kalalú”, and “El telefonito” are other featured Blades songs on the album.

The most famous theme is “They are Looking For You”, which tells in a somewhat humorous way the situation of a player who every time he loses betting does not pay his debt. This album was also nominated for a Grammy in 1982. It had a remaster in 2008 by Universal Music, for the series “Fania Original Remastered”, being also one of the Fania albums with more versions with 25 in total worldwide.
