Solomon King is an American singer popular throughout the 1960’s and 70’s. Raised on pop standards and country music, he made his debut stage appearance at the age of ten and began performing professionally at 21. He was the first white singer to open for jazz legend Billie Holiday. An imposing figure at 6’8″, Levy first worked under the stage name Randy Leeds, in 1965 he resumed his solo aspirations, assuming the name Solomon King. This is his ‘Gospel’ album released in 1965 on RCA label.
Solomon King is an impressive man. You find yourself impressed by the size of the man. In conversation, he leaves the impression of one who knows and loves his God and has great compassion for his fellows. When Solomon King sings… you realize that here is a man with a mission and a message. His mission is to sing the message of Jesus Christ. To hear him carry on his mission is a thrilling experience.
