Seether – Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum (Deluxe Edition) (2020/2022) [FLAC 24bit/48kHz]

mqs — Tue, 08 Sep 2026 07:14:36 +0000

‘Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum’ is Seether’s eighth studio album and was produced by Morgan and engineered and mixed by Matt Hyde (Deftones, AFI) in Nashville from December 2019 through January 2020. The album’s 13 new tracks draw on the dark and raw honesty of grunge’s epic guitar attack and the South African underground punk and metal that Morgan (and bandmate Dale Stewart) grew up on. The band is joined on the album by newest member, Corey Lowery (ex-guitarist/vocalist for Saint Asonia and Stuck Mojo), Morgan’s friend of 16 years, who also assistant-engineered the album. ‘Corey has a lot of experience and is an inspiring guitarist as well; he’s the older brother I’ve always wanted’, Morgan says. All 21 songs recorded during the SVPPB session are included on this deluxe release along with the alternate version of ‘Wasteland’.

Seether – Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum (2020) [FLAC 24bit/48kHz]

mqs — Tue, 08 Sep 2026 07:14:29 +0000

Produced by Shaun Morgan and engineered and mixed by Matt Hyde (Deftones, AFI), their new album Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum, (which translates to “If you want peace, prepare for war”) was recorded in Nashville, TN over two months in December 2019 and January 2020. The follow-up to 2017’s Poison the Parish, Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum is the eight album of their illustrious career and features Shaun Morgan’s, aggressive, highly melodic songwriting, some of the most expressive, politically charged music he’s ever made. Seether is joined on the album by their newest member, Cory Lowery (former guitarist / vocalist for Saint Asonia and Stuck Mojo) who adds a broad new sonic dimension to the band’s studio and live work. Tracks such as the anthemic Dangerous and the heavy-hitting Beg seem destined to reclaim Seether’s position as rock giants.

Seether – Seether: 2002 – 2013 (2013) [FLAC 24bit/44,1kHz]

mqs — Tue, 08 Sep 2026 05:35:55 +0000

“Seether: 2002-2013” is a two-disc compilation album by the South African post-grundge rock band Seether, which was released on October 29, 2013 through Wind-up Records. It is entirely produced by Brendan ‘O Brien. The first disc comprises the band’s well-known songs and singles, while the second disc comprises a cover of Veruca Salt’s song “Seether”, the song after which the band is named, two new studio tracks, plus unreleased demos, B-sides, and soundtrack songs. The artwork of Seether’s 2013 compilation 2002-2013 is a picture of a dog defecating. Read one way, this crappy cover could be taken as the post-grunge trio’s opinion of the need for a compilation; read another, it could be taken as a criticism of the band’s music. Either way, there’s no getting around that it’s an ugly cover for a by-the-books greatest-hits, a 15-track overview that contains all the band’s modern rock radio hits – including “Broken,” the duet with Amy Lee – and emphasizing their latter-day albums Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces and Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray over the early Disclaimer and Karma and Effect. The second disc rounds up rarities, demos, and B-sides – songs that popped up on superhero and horror film soundtracks, plus a cover of their namesake, Veruca Salt’s “Seether” – which should please fans.

Seether – Poison the Parish (Deluxe Edition) (2017) [FLAC 24bit/44,1kHz]

mqs — Tue, 08 Sep 2026 05:35:50 +0000

“Poison the Parish” is the 7th studio album by South African rock band Seether. Loudly and proudly proclaimed as Seether’s heaviest, Poison The Parish comes on the heels of the trio’s two most successful albums, 2011’s Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray and 2014’s Isolate and Medicate. Produced for the first time by the group’s frontman Shaun Morgan, Poison The Parish features the top 25 rock radio track Let You Down, previewed by the band months in advance. Subsequent teasers leading up to this release include Stoke The Fire, Nothing Left and Count Me Out.One of the most enduring acts to come out of the post-grunge boom of the early 2000s, South Africa’s Seether have managed to remain true to their Nirvana/Soundgarden-loving roots while maintaining just enough forward-thinking momentum to stay relevant. Poison the Parish is the band’s seventh studio long-player, and their first to be issued via frontman Shaun Morgan’s label imprint Canine Riot Records – he also handles all of the production duties. A much beefier affair than 2014’s perfectly meaty but slick corporate Isolate and Medicate, the 12-track set – there is also a deluxe edition that adds three more cuts – is by far the group’s heaviest outing to date, but Seether have always leaned harder on the alt-rock side of the post-grunge spectrum, so as per usual, all of that might is tempered by hooks aplenty. Opener “Stoke the Fire” does just what its title implies, delivering slow burn grooves and a circuitous lead melody that falls somewhere between Alice in Chains and Load-era Metallica. Follow-up “Betray and Degrade” fares even better on the earworm front, as does the stripped-down lead single “Let You Down,” but things start to bleed together as the LP reaches its mid-section, with competent, yet largely forgettable midtempo offerings like “Against the Wall” and “Let Me Heal” hitting the breaks on what was initially a pretty wild ride. Luckily, things pick up again with the punishing “Nothing Left” and the unabashedly Nevermind-esque “Count Me Out” – the brooding, acoustic-led closer “Sell My Soul” gets by on mood alone. Poison the Parish doesn’t deviate too far from the structural blueprints of prior outings, but it’s hardly the work of a band just going through the motions. By attaining autonomy, Seether seems to have rediscovered their vitality.

Seether – Isolate And Medicate (2014/2024) [FLAC 24bit/44,1kHz]

mqs — Tue, 08 Sep 2026 05:35:44 +0000

At 15 years old, Seether are starting to slide into middle age and, appropriately, their music is beginning to mature on Isolate and Medicate, their sixth studio album. Once again working with Brendan O’Brien, the grunge-era superstar who helmed Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray, Seether gravitate toward the melodic, a shift apparent in both the verses and the riffs, although there’s still a tendency to grind out thick neo-grunge guitar workouts both slow (“My Disaster”) and fast (“Suffer It All”). These bursts of heaviosity are the exceptions to the rule, though, for much of Isolate and Medicate finds Seether uncannily re-creating the sound and style of Nickelback, to the point where “Nobody Praying for Me” seems to follow the cadences of “How You Remind Me.” This is where O’Brien provides a huge assist to Seether. A dexterous, nimble producer, he gives Isolate and Medicate considerable color and variety, letting Shaun Morgan’s growl and guitar breathe in equal measure, often giving the impression that the songs are a little more melodic than they actually are. Despite the creeping Chad Kroegerisms – they’re not just there on “Nobody Praying for Me,” but on many of the record’s boldest songs – Seether often one-up their former tourmates because Morgan isn’t a bellower, either as a vocalist or writer; he prefers muscular melodies to brute force, and sometimes they do hit hard on Isolate and Medicate.

Tracklist:

1-1. Seether – See You At The Bottom (03:38)
1-2. Seether – Same Damn Life (03:20)
1-3. Seether – Words As Weapons (04:01)
1-4. Seether – My Disaster (04:34)
