”…And no Stress for the Wicked” – that’s a memorable title for the album. The title is a playful version of the famous ”no Rest for the Wicked” phrase that Ozzy Osbourne has also used on his fifth solo album. In the cover image, the old car cab with its spiderweb is also appealing, as if exuding decades of patina. And yet ”…and No Stress for the Wicked” manages to be refreshingly fresh, despite having its roots in the soil of traditional rock.The South / East hails from Savonlinna and its line-up is influenced by long-line musicians. The most notable of the members is Janne Mannonen, who was the drummer for YUP at the time, but works as a rhythm guitarist in this line-up. Timo Salmenkivi is a hard-boiled soloist in many broths and the vocalist has once again made an impressive mark with his voice. This is best expressed in the song ”my Harvest to Reap”, where Salmenkivi’s versatile voice is heard. ”To Death & Song”, which ends the long-playing, is another interesting case, as the sound of Salmenkivi in places reminds me of Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
