…this is how the Leipziger Volkszeitung praised the conclusion of the Bach Festival in 2006. the Thomaner are accompanied by the Leipzig Baroque Orchestra and renowned soloists. Thomas Cantor Georg Christoph Biller appreciates “the Mass as a highly concentrated summary of the Christian faith contents, as well as an architecturally perfect structure. The Mass in B minor is the best example of how timeless and time-related come together and complement each other.“ The Mass, which is often referred to as Johann Sebastian Bach’s opus summum, is at the same time the work with which the great Thomaskantor draws the artistic balance of his life.
