To translate is the album title of the trio consisting of Georg Vogel on the piano, Andreas Waelti on the double bass and Michael Prowaznik on the drums with “sitting between two chairs”, that is to be in a hopeless situation. Whether such a dilemma can also be expressed musically?
If so, then you would have to discover breaks in the narrative thread of the Viennese trio, if you had to make out sharp musical edges and corners, beyond the hectic, explosive turbulences of the cymbals, for which Michael Prowaznik, as in F.B. is responsible.
In contrast to many jazz trios who divest themselves in playful forms, the three Viennese musicians rely on drama, on almost theatrical stagings, on the conceptual and the intuitive.
