Trio Heinz Herbert – The Willisau Concert (Live) (2017) [FLAC 24bit/48kHz]

This refreshing live performance by the Trio Heinz Herbert on the main stage at the Willisau Jazz Festival was recorded in September 2016 and finds the band confronting the audience with a kind of contemporary music that might not seem like jazz at first, but is infused with the same freedom and spirit of adventure. Many of the more traditional festival attendees were very excited about the young trio’s sound, which incorporates synthesizers, samples and effects. The three instrumentalists set out to create wholly individual music with precision and determined playfulness; this concert album provides ample evidence that they realized their goal.
