U2 (pronounced “Yu Tu”) is a rock band from Dublin, Ireland. U2 was formed in 1976, one of the most popular, successful and influential bands in the world ever. The band’s albums have sold over 170 million copies. As of 2023, they have twenty—two Grammy Awards to their credit – more than any other band in the world.The band owes its appearance to Larry Mullen, who posted a note on the school bulletin board about finding members for a rock band. Bono (vocals and guitar), Edge (guitar, keys and vocals) and Adam Clayton (bass guitar) responded to the announcement. Since then, the composition of the band has remained unchanged. By the mid-1980s, they had released 4 albums and gained loyal fans, thanks primarily to outstanding concert performances, unique, which became the band’s hallmark, performances of guitar parts by Edge and vocals by Bono, as well as deep lyrics.
