This second opus is dedicated to orchestral works, and is presented – to quote composer Bushra El-Turk – as a “mosaic” of rich and varied colors: it compiles works by three composers of the past and four of the present-day, performed and conducted by two soloists and four conductors – all of them women. An all-women record, then – there are already so many out there entirely made by men! – but primarily a record whose aim is to give these works and artists the opportunity to be known by the public at large, and heard and programmed in future seasons.
