Von Groove is one of the best-kept secret of Canadian rock legends. Just like Harem Scarem they go ahead creating great rock music even though not introduced in larger scale. Their fourth album in 1999 is a commercial-oriented one reminding me of good ol’ 80s pop rock and has similar direction as Firehouse, Danger Danger and Giant.

This album still retains the edgeness of the debut as in the opener TEST OF FAITH, and the last ROCK & ROLL STATION. Also they have excellent ballads as shown in BACK IN LOVE AGAIN, beautiful acoustic ballad reminding me of some of Firehouse ones.

Balld ONLY LOVE tastes like their contemporary DANGER DANGER. FOOLING YOURSELF has the guitar riff remnicent of JOURNEY.
