Jazz/fusion pianist/keyboardist Will Boulware’s second release from Eighty-Eight’s repeats the exciting participation of two great contemporary bassists Richard Bona (on electric bass) and Lonnie Plaxico (on acoustic bass). Add to that the super-drummer Harvey Mason, and you have an explosive rhythm section!
Boulware, sticking to the piano for this straight-ahead set, is clearly inspired by the other musicians. It is interesting to hear Boulware and Mason reacting differently to each bassist. This is a thrilling, fine example of contemporary piano trio music!
