Cellist Julian Arp and pianist Caspar Frantz are presenting a very personal album at GENUIN: Around two pieces by composer and conductor Klaus Arp, the two are creating a highly emotional program with works by Franz Schubert, Johann Sebastian Bach and Astor Piazzolla. The memory of his uncle Julian Arps was the impetus for this production, which combines chamber music over the centuries: from the great bows in Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata to Bach’s first solo suite for cello to Piazzolla’s brilliant Grand Tango. At the center of the album are two works by Klaus Arp, namely his finely branching To two hands and the rhapsodic narrative Suitencello. Moving chamber music!
