Special guest is the famous trumpet player Fabrizio Boxwood…Explains Elisabetta Guido: “Arabesque carries on the compositional line drawn with my previous album as author,” The Good Storyteller “(Dodicilune), that is my desire to arouse images in the mind of the listener and my love for rhythm, which led me to the previous I also work to try my hand at 5/4, 7/8 and polyrhythm. But, unlike that, “simplicity” prevails here, because this latest work of mine is a “child” of my moods during the lockdowns caused by the Covid 19 pandemic, periods in which I felt I wanted to use musical writing , as always happens for me, as a means to find serenity and a pinch of happiness. Always safeguarding, of course, my jazz origins, as can be seen from the harmonies of the pieces, rich in modulations and chords containing particular tensions, descriptive of the various moods, and by the use of melodic passages that are a bit “virtuous” typical of the jazz. From this were born songs such as samba “That’s the matter“, Top piece of the album, from which a video clip was also taken under the direction of Fabien Frigerio, in which part of the effect I mentioned above was also given by sharing the piece with two other singers, with a effect also of corality. Just as the sambinha “At Cristina’s house“, With a text dedicated to summer, which was the only season that gave us some respite from the virus”…
