Amsterdam drummer Eric Schuijt takes on the role of his great role model Buddy Rich. With a new big band, which swings in the style of the drum legend. The American jazz drummer Buddy Rich (1917-1987) is still unsurpassed. This applies to his energy and technique, but also to the way he managed to push his big band to great heights.

Eric Schuijt has been intensively studying the style and techniques of Buddy Rich for years. In his big band we recognize musicians from Ploctones, Cubop City Big Band, Nueva Manteca and Jong Metropole. The program features works by renowned Buddy Rich arrangers such as Don Menza and John LaBarbera.
