The mysterious Hans Anselm is back and gathered his five musicians to go on a journey towards the innerst of sound.

In their upcoming album the quintet illustrates the state in between as a permanent state of existence.

Acoustic sounds meet organic noises and dark synthesizers, melting into mesmerizing and pulsating soundscapes.

The quintet consists of Gabriel Rosenbach (trumpet), Benedikt Schnitzler (guitar), Anna Wohlfarth (piano), Arne Imig (electric bass) and Johannes Metzger (drums).

In view of the band name, the question arises: what about Hans Anselm? The band explains: “Although the origin of the band’s name should remain a mystery, Hans Anselm has become a constant companion for us.

He is an imaginary friend who watches over the band, inspires it, causes turmoil and yet unites it.

Only we can see him when he whispers the notes he wants us to play. He inspires and forces us to leave our comfort zone.” The track “Sculptures” features vocalist Max Grüner.

The colour of his voice captures the melancholy and hope that lies in the state in between.

Images of water and waves, greyness, darkness, floating, skyscrapers, chaos and catharsis, accompanied by meandering trumpet layers and deep synth basses – pulsating, breathing.”Hans Anselm, a talented musician and songwriter, showcases his exceptional skills throughout the album. Each track is carefully crafted with intricate melodies and rich instrumentation, creating a mesmerizing sonic landscape. From the hauntingly beautiful piano compositions to the energetic guitar-driven anthems, every song on this album is a testament to Anselm’s artistic vision.

The lyrics on “A Permanent Place in Between Poles of Existence” delve into deep philosophical themes and explore the complexities of human existence. Through introspective storytelling and poetic imagery, Anselm invites listeners to reflect on their own lives and contemplate the meaning of life itself.

One of the standout features of this album is its seamless fusion of different musical styles. Drawing inspiration from various genres such as alternative rock, folk, and classical music, Hans Anselm creates a sound that is both familiar yet refreshingly original. This versatility adds depth and dimension to each track, keeping listeners engaged from start to finish.
