The “Musiken in Kirchheimbolanden” series continues with a concert by pianist Hans Suh in the east wing of the Orangery. The internationally known and renowned prize winner will perform works by Robert Schumann and Modest Mussorgsky at this solo recital on Sunday, September 11, 6 pm.The pianist, born in South Korea in 1990, will perform Schumann’s Arabeske op. 18 and Symphonic Etudes op. 13. After intermission, he will play Mussorgsky’s piano cycle “Pictures at an Exhibition.”

Suh began playing the piano at the age of four, composing at five, and won his first prize in the Korea Times Music Competition at seven. At the age of ten, Hans Suh moved to the United States and made his debut a year later as the winner of the New York Philharmonic Young Artist Audition (2001). As a scholarship student at the Mannes College of Music in New York (2001-2009), he pursued piano studies and continued his education with Professors Matti Raekallio and Emanuel Ax. He completed his master’s degree at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and is currently studying for the concert exam with Professor Arie Vardi.
