Jazz clarinetist Martí Mitjavila (2000) is an up-and-coming talent from Barcelona currently based in Amsterdam. In recent years he won the prestigious Princess Christina Competition, which earned him a performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival. He also won the Professional Jury Prize of the Grachtenfestival Jazz Competition. His trio is completed by Simon Osuna on double bass and Ilia Rayskin on drums. They make traditional jazz trio music inspired by the likes of Sonny Rollins and Lee Konitz, but add their own modern twist.
