The pandemic years have done a lot to us. We have given up, started, turned everything upside down and sometimes just endured. The Big Moon can sing a song about all that – or fill a whole new album with it. Here Is Everything is a soul striptease on eleven tracks.

The cover is adorned with the pregnant lead singer Jules and only then does one really realize that pregnancy and becoming a mother hardly appear in the music world, if at all. How surprised one was when artists like Hannah Joy from the Australian band Middle Kids or most recently Laura Lee from Laura Lee and the Jets stood on stage heavily pregnant. A collective yet extremely individual experience, bringing a child into the world should be its own genre branch. Instead, it has long been an unwritten taboo subject in music, both artistically and bureaucratically.4 stars out of 5 — “‘Magic’ is motivational whilst showing off The Big Moon’s flawless harmonies. And then ‘Daydreaming’ hosts their lofty sound again as jubilant tambourines and grandiose piano chords conjure up moments of simplicity and free-spiritedness.”
