The March Violets came out of Leeds in the early 80s and were label mates of the Sisters Of Mercy. They released six indie singles and were constantly in the British indie charts.

They reached the Top 2 with “Snake Dance” and “Deep” and No. 1 with “Walk Into The Sun”. They never recorded an album – their 80’s long players “Natural History” in the UK and “Electric Shades” in the US, were compilations. Eventually they signed to a major label and were primed for a breakthrough in the US, where they appeared in the 1987 film “Some Kind of Wonderful”. However, they were asked to compromise too much and parted ways. Here is their entire 1980s independent catalogue in original and extended versions, along with six BBC Sessions – 23 tracks with 9 unreleased songs.
