The International Piano Festival of La Roque d’Anthéron was born in 1981 after the meeting of two men: Paul Onoratini and Rene Martin. In 1981, the first notes rose in the park of the Florans Castle. They were played by the most famous pianists: Martha Argerich, Krystian Zimmermann, Zoltan Kocsis…

From the first edition, with hardly 12 programmed concerts, the Festival gained it’s letters of nobility. The press already had announced La Roque d’Anthéron as an unavoidable village for pianists and music lovers alike.
