José María Cano Andrés (February 21, 1959) was born in Madrid, Spain. Singer, composer and music producer, known for being part of the musical group Mecano, Spanish pop band of the 1980s, performers of songs such as Hijo de la Luna, Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar, Perdido En Mi Habitación and I Can’t Stand It Anymore, among others. After the band broke up in 1992, he focused on his solo career and later dabbled in art, making paintings for which he has gained recognition in recent decades. Son of Modesto Diego Cano and Emilia Andrés, he has as a brother, the also singer, Ignacio Cano Andrés, known as Nacho Cano, with whom he formed the band Mecano. From a young age he was attracted by music and writing, skills in which he delves into the family’s trips to Valencia.
