The world premiere of the Requiem by the Slovak composer and arranger Marián Kittner, who gained a reputation mainly for his arrangements for seven years of the prestigious Christmas project in Bratislava. The inspiration for his composition was the famous Requiem of Antonín Dvořák, whose 180. the anniversary of the birth is commemorated this year. The Requiem is dedicated to the memory of Peter martinček, an important Slovak composer who died in February this year and with whom the composer M. Kittner intensively consulted this work. Given the extraordinary situation in the world marked by the COVID-19 virus pandemic, the work reflects cultural and spiritual values in the form of a kind of inner silence and pacification. The Requiem, which we present at a time when we commemorate our loved ones with the memory of the deceased, will be performed by the acclaimed opera conductor Rastislav štúr with famous opera singers and the Lúčnica choir.
